{Eldon's Dad left his Mum when she was pregnant with Eldon, so he never mnet his dad, but he saw pictures. Now he's seen Chads father, who is the man in the pictures, and Chad is a year younger than Eldon, so basically they're half brothers. Oh, and they're inside Chad's mind.}

"My father and I have made most of the same mistakes" I muttered as I turned away and began to walk away. She grabbed my arm and pulled me back to her. "Chad your mistakes are nothing like your fathers mistakes" She smiled reassuringly at me. I couldn't look at her, so I stared at the ground beneath my feet. "How is that so?" I whispered regretting asking the question.

I felt an awful ripping pain in my chest as he said that. Like half of me was dying. I put my hand softly on his cheek. "You're a better person than your father, Chad, I know you are," I said slowly. I indicated to Eldon, who was sitting down as far from us as possible, facing with his back to us. "It's not his fault, Chad, he didn't decide who his father was. Why don't you talk to him?" I suggested. Chad put his hand on mine, the one resting on his face, and brought it softly to his lips, before turning around and heading over to Eldon. I sat away from them, in a tree, and listened to their conversation, making sure they weren't fighting. "...Sit down?" Chad was asking, and Eldon nodded, so Chad dropped to the floor. "I'm sorry, Chadwick, I shouldn't have wandered." "Don't worry about it." There was a moment of silence. "Um, are you sure..." "That man is my father." "Oh, okay." Silence. Neither of them spoke for two long minutes. Eventually Eldon said, "Can I ask you something? Don't get mad." "Go ahead." "Was he a good father?" Chad didn't respond, but after a few seconds he replied, "He was...Satisfactory."

He stared at me waiting for me to explain. "He provided my family with a comfortable living but..." I hesitated unsure of how to explain it, "But he wasn't much of a father figure." Eldon sighed at that. This must be making him just as uncomfortable as it was making me. Eldon began chuckling to himself. "What?" I asked confused to why he was snickering. "I always wished I had a brother" he chuckled. "I don't think that this counts" I sighed and his chuckling stopped.

"We're blood..." Eldon mused. "Maybe, but we're not brothers." Chad said quietly, softly. "We could be. Brothers fight, you know." "We're not," Chad sighed. "You don't choose your family." "Brothers don't fight over something like we do." "Brothers don't usually have such a good prize." I wondered what they were talking about, trying to solve what the 'prize' was. I shuddered as I realized it was me.

I chuckled as he referred Willow as the prize. "A prize we're both fighting for" I smiled "Knowing she loves you is an unfair advantage" Eldon smiled back in a teasing fashion. "Knowing that you never hurt her the way I have evens the playing field" I sighed shuddering at the thought of the two of them together.

Chad shuddered, and I sighed. They both spun around immediately, staring at me, and from their expressions neither of them had known that I had been capably listening to them the whole time. Chad began to smile vengefully, and as I saw what was crossing his mind, Eldon chuckled and I growled, "You wouldn't dare." But it was his mind and he controlled this forest. A vine from a tree flew out of its own accord, wrapping around me quickly and pulling me back, binding me to the tree like chains around my chest. I cursed at them, and they both laughed.

She was cursing and screaming at us to let her go. Eldon and I just laughed. I got up from where I was sitting. Eldon looked at me confused. "Where are you going?" He asked confused to why I was getting up. I chuckled as I made my way over to Willow. Eldon looked at me unsure of what I was going to do next. I reached up and put my hand under her chin forcing her to look at me. "I hope you learned your lesson" I chuckled as I reached up and kissed her lightly.

I sneered at him, clenching my fists. Seeing him touching her like that, seeing their lips meet... He was just using her to tick me off. And it sure was working. How could he use her like that? Maybe I was just being unreasonable, but it made me feel better looking at it that way. He was the jerk. He was doing her wrong. I closed my eyes and breathed in slowly. I would have ripped his head off then and there, attacked him, but I knew it would hurt Willow. I probably wouldn't be able to physically hurt Willow, really, she was one of the strongest, most independent beings I'd ever come across. But hurting 'Chaddy' wouldn't be that hard. And seeing him hurt would hurt her in so many ways that were worse than a bruise or even a broken bone.
No matter what I thought of him, she still loved him. She was happy with him. I felt the anger entering me again. She didn't see what I saw in him, she saw him through different eyes. To her, I was nothing next to him. I ripped a rock out of the ground and threw it into the woods. The adrenaline was building up, and it was his fault. He'd pay for it. He would. But how did you choose getting your revenge over the happiness of someone you loved, even if they didn't love you back? How could I make a choice like that? I couldn't. I had to stand there and watch, hold back my anger. All because of some silly little thing that people gave their lifes up. A silly little four letter word that some people longed for. Something I felt for someone I couldn't have. Love.

Chad kissed me, but I wasn't in a good mood. I could lie, and say it was a reaction, but why bother? I bit down on his lip. Hard. He jumped away from me, and Eldon snickered, but there was something else there, in his eyes... Chad was almost-cursing innocently, and his lip was bleeding. "Hope you learned your lesson," I mimicked him, but then again, I was the one tied to a tree.

"Hope you learned your lesson," she smiled repeating what I had just said. I smiled back at her while trying to stop my wound from bleeding. "I guess I can never kiss you anymore" I sighed watching has Willows expression changed. Eldon let out a short laugh. "He got you there Willow" he chuckled.

I sighed again. "Can I get out, now?" I asked as politely as was physically possible for me, and they both guffawed. I glared violently at them, and then said stiffly, "When can we leave?" The laughter stop. "We should wait a few hours," Chad started. "The Wingless are quite persistant," Eldon continued.

"The Wingless are quite persistent," Eldon explained as I freed Willow. She smiled at me as I took her hand. "What is there to do around here until then?" Eldon asked trying to distract me from Willow. I couldn't think of anything there was to do around here that I would be comfortable with him doing here. I mostly came here to get away from things I couldn't face. Willow noticed my silence. "Can we just stay here" she smiled up at me.

"Can we just stay here?" I smiled, suggesting the stupidest thing, on sensing Chad's discomfort with Eldon wandering. I hopped down from the tree with Chad, standing in between him and Eldon. It probably wasn't the smartest place for me to stand, but they couldn't kill each other while I was in the way.
